Small Tips to Judge Quality of Tape

Sealing tape can be seen everywhere in life, and fresh packing, express sealing box will use it! Please don’t ignore it due to its small size, because it plays a key role in product packaging. Choose to a reliable quality sealing tape, it will protect your goods packaging safety.  https://baijiahao.baidu.com/s?id=1797446654537156606

However, in practice, we often come across some issues just like ‘I just bought the tape, but it not used for a long time on the non-stick’ ‘in product transport process, the tape breaks’. How do we judge the quality of the sealing tape good or bad? Today I will teach you a few tricks!

First, Observe the Colour

The colour of the sealing tape is mainly determined by the film (usually BOPP film) and glue. BOPP film itself is transparent, while the glue (usually pressure-sensitive adhesive) is usually orange, beige. We generally choose high-quality BOPP film and high transparent glue, so that the tape produced is normally light yellow or white. The lighter the color, the less impurities the tape contains and the higher its purity. However, unscrupulous manufacturers produce poor quality tapes using cheap films that are not very transparent and the glue that easily turns yellow, causing the entire roll to look dark yellow.

Second, Smell It

This is a very straightforward method of discernment. If the tape in your hand will smell sour, it is likely to be made of poor quality glue.

Third, Feel the Tape’s Tensile Strength and Adhesion

Tension and adhesion are the most crucial factors to judge the quality of the tape. Generally speaking, manual test can be done. You use your hand to pull the tape hard, while feeling its pulling force. You can also pull a roll of tape pasted on the cardboard box and then tear it off. You need observe whether the cardboard box is torn off together or not. If it is torn off together, it proves that the viscosity of the tape can be. Be careful not to use the palm of your hand to test the adhesion.

Fourth, Watch the Thickness

Market tape thickness in 40mic-60mic (BOPP film thickness) varies, of course, the price also varies greatly. 60mic tape is very thick, but the same thickness of the case, the length is shorter. 40mic tape length is long, but very thin, easy to break. Therefore, we often recommend the 50mic tape which has the best cost performance.

Fifth, Look at the Winding Tightness

Good sealing tape is tightly wound, no bubbles, no impurities, low gap degree; poor quality tape is the opposite, loose winding, more bubbles, such as the following comparison between Wande super-permeable sealing tape and friendly tape(the left picture).

Also, Beware of Undersized Tape

Because it is difficult to measure the length of the tape, many tape lengths on the market are misrepresented. Even if the tape has the same thickness, the length will be different due to factors such as paper tube thickness, size, winding tightness, etc. So it is still necessary to actually operate before you can feel the durability of the tape.

A good adhesive tape determines the safety of product packaging. Now we recommend a high quality transparent tape: Wande BOPP transparent tape. It is made of BOPP film, which is transparent and has good visibility and low fog point, so you can clearly see the pattern behind. Besides, because of its high adhesive strength, it can firmly stick to objects without loosening. The quality of our tape is guaranteed; tightly wound, enough yards and meters, strong tensile force, not easy to pull off, strong sealing. It can be called a big ‘weapon’ in product packaging! https://wandepackage.com/tips-for-judging-tapes/
